Ateneo de Manila University has donated nearly 100 research journals to the Quezon City Public Library. This initiative brings academic work into a public space.
The journals cover Philippine society, culture, and history. They also explore interdisciplinary studies. Previously, these materials were only available in university libraries.
The collection includes several renowned publications. Titles include Perspective in the Arts and Humanities and Budhi: A Journal of Ideas and Culture. Readers can also find Social Transformations: Journal of the Global South. Journal of Management for Global Sustainability and Philippine Studies: Historical and Ethnographic Viewpoints are also available.
The project aims to make research accessible to more people. Students, researchers, and local residents can now use these resources. The Quezon City Public Library supports inclusive education. It serves as an ideal setting for this collaboration.
The university and the library share a common goal. Both want to foster a culture of reading and inquiry. Representatives noted the value of their partnership. They believe it makes research more relevant to a diverse audience.
This donation reflects the university’s commitment to public discourse. Ateneo aims to support community development through its research.
Those interested in future donations or partnerships may contact the university. Please email Journals Assistant Alexandra Jill Dela Cruz at ardelacruz@ateneo.edu.
