Park Inn Marks Seven Years

Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo is celebrating its seventh anniversary. The hotel marks seven years of Ilonggo hospitality and community partnerships.

The hotel opened in 2019. It is a partnership between Radisson Hotel Group and SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation.

“Seven years ago, we envisioned Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo as a landmark property that would add to the vibrant tourism landscape of Western Visayas,” said Ms. Peggy Angeles. She is the Executive Vice President of SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation.

“Seeing it flourish into a beloved destination that marries global standards with local heart is immensely rewarding,” Angeles added. “This achievement is a testament to SMHCC’s enduring mission to create meaningful experiences and support sustainable community growth across the Philippines.”

The hotel recently earned the Safehotels Certification. This award proves the property meets strict safety standards.

The culinary team also won awards at the 16th National Food Showdown. They earned a Gold medal for signature Bibingka. They won a Silver medal for Valenciana.

“Food is more than nourishment,” said Rouel Guanzon. He is the General Manager of Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo. “It is one of the strongest connections we have to our culture.”

“These recognitions honor the passion and dedication of our chefs, who continuously elevate the traditions that inspire us every day,” Guanzon added.

The hotel uses new technology to improve guest stays. Guests can use the StayPlease digital platform. This app lets them order food from their mobile devices.

The hotel also launched a masterclass called Beyond the Plate. It teaches students about gastronomic storytelling. Another project is Panubli-on. This is a documentary series about local dishes and culinary families.

Employees are a big part of the success. Ms. Lucky Alunan won the Front of House award at the SMHCC President’s Go Beyond Awards.

General Manager Guanzon also serves outside the hotel. He is an officer for the Iloilo Hotels, Restaurants and Resorts Association. He is also a director for the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Iloilo.

The staff recently visited the Iloilo City Pound and Animal Shelter. They donated supplies and helped rescue animals.

“At its core, hospitality is about care,” Guanzon shared. “Whether we are serving a guest, supporting our local business community, or looking out for our four-legged friends, we believe these acts of kindness are what make Iloilo special.”

The hotel hosted an anniversary gathering on April 27, 2026. They hosted a luncheon for media partners the next day.

Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo looks forward to its eighth year. The property will keep delivering great service and supporting local culture.
