OFW Film Wins Big In CPFF 2026

The 2026 Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival (PCFF) crowned its winning films. The awards ceremony celebrated the best works in Philippine cinema. Two films emerged as top winners in their categories.


“Mono No Aware” won top honors in the full-length category. The movie is a drama set in Japan. It took home nine major awards. It earned the main prize of Pinakapanalong Pelikula. The film also won the Panalo sa International Jury prize.

BC Amparado won Panalong Direktor for his work on “Mono No Aware”. Juan Karlos Labajo took home the Panalong Aktor award. Momoko Kobayashi won Panalong Pangalawang Aktres. The cast won Best Ensemble.


The film excelled in technical areas as well. TM Malones won Panalo sa Cinematography. Edmund Telmo secured the Panalo sa Editing trophy. Willie Apa Jr. earned the Panalo sa Sound Design award.

Other full-length films also collected honors. “Apol of my Ai” won four awards. “Multwoh (Patay na Patay Sa’yo)” earned four trophies. “Patay Gutom” also collected four awards. “Stuck on You” took home two prizes.

“Apol of my Ai” received the Panalong Karangalan Mula sa Hurado award. Zion Cruz of “Apol of my Ai” won Panalong Child Performer. Zanjoe Marudo won Panalong Pangalawang Aktor for the same film. Emerzon Texon secured the Panalo sa Musical Scoring award.

“Multwoh (Patay na Patay Sa’yo)” secured the Puregold Always Panalo Film title. It shared this recognition with “Patay Gutom”. “Multwoh” won the Panalo sa mga Manonood award. Rodrigo Ricio won Panalo sa Production Design for the movie. The film also won the Panalo sa Brand Intrusion award.

“Patay Gutom” earned recognition for its narrative and visual arts. Carl Joseph E. Papa and Yvonne Garcia won Panalong Kwento. The film’s animation team won Panalo sa Visual Effects. Denver Balbaboco designed the Panalong Poster.

Xyriel Manabat won Panalong Aktres for “Stuck on You”. She won the award for her comedic role. The film also won Panalong Awitin. Juana sang the winning track “Reyna ng Quezon City”.

In the student shorts division, “Limlim” earned top honors. It won the main title of Pinakapanalong Maikling Pelikula. “Limlim” ended the night with four awards in total.

“Kun Hain, Bisan Diin.” matched “Limlim” with four trophies. The two films competed closely in key categories. Directing honors resulted in a tie. Samantha Palaje of “Limlim” and Jomarie Corro-Reyes of “Kun Hain, Bisan Diin.” both won Panalong Direktor.

“Kun Hain, Bisan Diin.” won Panalong Karangalan Mula sa Hurado. Jomarie Corro-Reyes and William Roberts won Panalong Kwento. Brian Spencer Reyes earned the Panalo sa Editing prize.

“Limlim” secured key performance and artistic wins. Zoey Madison Lim won Panalong Child Performer. Geia de Vera earned the Panalo sa Cinematography award.

Other short films earned notable distinctions. “Alumahan” won Panalo sa International Jury. It also won Panalo sa Brand Intrusion. Keith Ian Serfino shared the Panalong Poster award for “Alumahan”. Eidan Maninang shared the poster award for “Nang Matakasan ang Tagay”.

“Miss Intrams” and “Pulis Dunggab” won Puregold Always Panalo Film prizes. Lenard Kent Villanueva won Panalo sa Musical Scoring for “Miss Intrams”.

Jonalyn Mateo won Panalong Aktres for “Ang Huling Banlaw ni Susan”. The film also won Panalo sa mga Manonood. Jay Gabriel Cañada won Panalong Aktor for “The Sound of K”.

Nour Hooshmand won Panalong Pangalawang Aktres for “Starfish”. “Starfish” also won Panalo sa Visual Effects. Junelle Bacho Tecson and Luis Martin Mañalac created the visual effects. Nor Domingo won Panalong Pangalawang Aktor for “12 Shots”. Jim Flores, Minnesota Flores, and Sol Samodio won Panalo sa Production Design for “12 Shots”.

Hannah Gagalac won Panalo sa Sound Design for “Bumtak Sara ti Nuangen”. Kier Mosquito, Edlyn Icao, and John Dave Brion won Panalong Awitin. They wrote “Game Na!” for “Teks Battle: Shoot Pati Pato!”.

Zig Dulay won Pinakapanalong Maikling Pelikula in the Panorama Section. He won for “The Other Side of Reality”. “When Heaven Inched Towards Earth” won Pinakapanalong Promosyon ng Pelikula.

Festival organizers praised the participants. Puregold CinePanalo festival chair Ivy Hayagan-Piedad spoke at the event.

“Each year, we gather to honor the brave artistry, and passion of Filipino filmmakers who continue to make a statement in Philippine cinema,” she said. “We proudly celebrate their achievements and we will continue to push this new voice and new perspective that move, inspire, and resonate with our panalo cinema audience.”

The festival continues its public screenings. Screenings run through Oct. 4. Venues include Gateway Cineplex 18, TriNoma, and Fairview Terraces. Screenings also take place at Ayala Malls Feliz, Ayala Malls Circuit, Ayala Malls Manila Bay, and Market! Market!

General admission tickets cost ₱250. Discounted tickets cost ₱200. Senior citizens, PWDs, and students qualify for discounts. National athletes also get the discount. Aling Puring and Puregold Perks cardholders receive discount pricing too.

A festival pass costs ₱2,000. It provides access to all seven full-length films. It includes access to four student short film collections. The short film collection features 19 student works. Passes are available at Gateway Cineplex 18 and TriNoma.

Many major brands support the event. Sponsors include Alaska, Angel, Argentina, Ariel, Bingo, and Birch Tree Fortified. Bear Brand, C2, Century Tuna, Champion, Chuckie, and Coca-Cola support the event. Colgate, Creamsilk, Datu Puti, Downy, GoodNom Fresh, and Great Taste are sponsors.
