DePoly, a Swiss company, is launching a new recycling plant. It will process 500 tons of plastic waste annually. This plant is a big step toward industrial-scale recycling. The plant converts PET and polyester waste into raw materials. This process uses no fossil fuels. It turns trash into valuable resources. The company already works with major brands. Odlo, a clothing company, is one partner. DePoly’s recycled materials meet high industry standards. They are used in new bottles and clothing. The technology creates monomers. These are oil equivalents. They offer a real alternative to virgin materials.

Samantha Anderson, DePoly’s CEO, stated the plant validates their plan. They aim to create a circular plastics market. A larger commercial plant is planned for 2027. This will handle much more waste. DePoly secured $23 million in funding. This boosts their position as a European leader. MassMutual Ventures is a new investor.

David Hanf, DePoly’s CFO, added his perspective. He said, “We are convinced our technology is one of the fastest to scale and will allow us to compete with virgin pricing at scale, a key factor for success. We are happy to have expanded our investor base in the US with MassMutual Ventures as we want to build a global champion.” Hanf’s experience with other successful European companies is valuable. The company’s innovative technology reduces our reliance on fossil fuels. It also minimizes waste. DePoly’s success shows sustainable innovation is possible. The World Economic Forum recognized DePoly as a Technology Pioneer.
