Celebrate World Heart Day with Free Health Checks and Activities

The Philippine Heart Association (PHA) marked World Heart Day on September 29. They organized a series of events. These events aimed to raise awareness about heart health. They also promoted a healthier lifestyle.

The event featured a variety of activities. It included free risk assessment checks for heart health. There were Zumba exercise sessions and healthy heart cooking demonstrations. Participants also received CPR and AED training.

PHA President Dr. Rodney emphasized the importance of taking care of one’s heart. He stated, “If you want to be with your loved ones, travel, or achieve your dreams, focus on your heart.”

The event received support from various organizations and institutions. This includes the Department of Health. It also includes the Pasig City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

PHA officials and experts shared valuable information on heart health. They emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy diet and exercising regularly. Managing stress and avoiding smoking are also crucial. Limiting excessive alcohol consumption is important as well.

The event was a success, with hundreds of people participating in the various activities. PHA officials expressed their commitment to continue their efforts to promote heart health. They aim to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease in the Philippines.
