The Globe Telecom partnered with the Center for Art on February 8, 2026. A New Ventures and Sustainable Development (CANVAS) to host “The Secret Digital Map.” The interactive session took place at the National Museum of Fine Arts. It marked Safer Internet Day 2026.
The morning event welcomed children, parents and teachers. Participants listened to stories, joined guided talks and tried hands‑on activities. The focus was data privacy, artificial intelligence and responsible technology use. The program is part of Globe’s year‑long collaboration with CANVAS. It builds on the children’s book Safe Space: A Kid’s Guide to Data Privacy.

“The children are growing up in a digital‑first world,” said Atty. Irish Saladanan‑Almeida, Globe’s Chief Privacy Officer and Vice President for AI, Cybersecurity and Data Privacy. “Globe champions responsible digital citizenship. We want families to navigate the online world safely.”
Privacy Commissioner Atty. Johann Carlos S. Barcena of the National Privacy Commission added, “Technology creates new ways for children to learn. It also asks families to stay mindful of privacy, safety and the choices young people make online.” He said the NPC works to protect children’s personal data. “Conversations like today help families build healthy habits and safer digital environments at home.”

Annette Ferrer, Deputy Executive Director of CANVAS, highlighted the role of art. “We believe stories have the power to shape minds and inspire action,” she said. “Partnering with Globe lets us use art and storytelling to address issues that affect children today.”
Globe representatives Derick Ohmar Adil and Karen Panisales led short talks on responsible AI use. They offered age‑appropriate tips for families. The tips showed how to create safe and mindful digital habits together.
Safe Space: A Kid’s Guide to Data Privacy is still available in English and Filipino. The book supports the lessons shared at the event. Globe plans to expand programs that help young Filipinos use digital tools with confidence and care.
The event aligns with Safer Internet Day’s global call for a kinder, more respectful online environment. It underscores Globe’s commitment to digital literacy, child online safety and responsible technology.
