
The Metropolitan Theatre in Manila City buzzed with excitement on March 5, 2025. The 17th Ani ng Dangal, or Harvest of Honors, celebrated Filipino talent on the global stage. Thirty-nine artists received awards. They wore Barong Tagalog and Filipiniana, showcasing Filipino culture.

NCCA Chair Victorino Mapa Manalo spoke. He emphasized the artists’ contribution to both the Philippines and global culture. He said their achievements inspire future generations. He noted that seeing fellow Filipinos win motivates young talents.

Maria Ira S. Reyes, president of BAWZ, spoke on behalf of the awardees. She highlighted their dedication, hard work, and passion. She stated that while international wins are amazing, home recognition is incomparable.

Many outstanding Filipinas were among the awardees. The Halili Cruz School of Ballet, founded by Shirley Halili-Cruz, earned multiple awards at the Asia Pacific Dance Competition. Chartra Paz “Chat” Fores won the prestigious International Property Award 2024-2025. Trista Ignacio, a conductor, led the Imusicapella choir to two international victories.
The Ani ng Dangal is a state recognition from the NCCA. It concluded National Arts Month. NCCA Executive Director Eric Zerrudo addressed the awardees. He called them champions of the world, highlighting their cultural ambassadorship.
