These agencies showed strong commitment to GAD budget allocation and utilization in Fiscal Year 2024. They launched innovative programs that empower women and promote inclusivity. Their work reflects the government’s push for accountability, transparency, and gender-responsive governance.

The recognition highlights how GAD is more than just a line item in the budget. It is a powerful tool for transformation. PCW Chairperson Ermelita V. Valdeavilla praised the awardees. She emphasized that every peso spent must create real impact.

Executive Director Nharleen Santos-Millar delivered a strong message during the press conference. “This is more than just a recognition ceremony,” she said. “GAD is not just about compliance—it’s about transformation, commitment, and people.”

She stressed that effective GAD programs change lives. They ensure public services reach women, girls, and marginalized groups. These efforts advance gender equality across all sectors.

Atty. Ma. Sophia Isabella P. De Castro, PCW Attorney III, spoke about the media’s vital role. “The GAD Budget is about progress and inclusion,” she said. “The media plays a key role in sharing these stories.”

She urged journalists to spotlight successful GAD initiatives. These stories can inspire other agencies and local governments to act.

Representatives from top-performing agencies joined the event. DSWD Assistant Secretary Janet P. Armas, DAR Director Agnes B. Mendoza, and DFA Undersecretary Maria Theresa Dizon-De Vega shared their insights.

They discussed best practices in implementing GAD programs. Their agencies integrated gender perspectives into policies, services, and budgets. These actions led to measurable progress in women’s empowerment.

The PCW congratulated all recognized agencies. “Your efforts prove that the GAD Budget is more than just a number,” the commission said. “It is a commitment to bring gender equality to the core of government work.”

Agencies that were not on the list were also encouraged. “Your efforts are still seen and valued,” PCW said. “We hope this recognition inspires even greater commitment to GAD.”

The event served as a platform for collaboration and learning. It reinforced the importance of mainstreaming gender in all government programs.

The 2024 recognition sends a clear message: gender equality is not optional. It is essential for inclusive and sustainable development.

With strong leadership, transparency, and public support, GAD continues to transform lives. The PCW remains dedicated to advancing women’s rights across the Philippines.
