Cordillera’s Spirit Shines in Tourism

Experience the life of a Filipino highlander. Be awed by the wonders of the Mountain Province. A tourism initiative to highlight the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

The Department of Tourism (DOT) showcased the CAR. This activity is part of the Philippine Experience Program (PEP). DOT Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco led the three-day caravan, highlighting the region’s rich heritage, culture, and arts. It brought the highlands’ unique identity to the forefront for Filipinos and travelers.

Invited delegates immersed themselves in the highland life. They witnessed unique indigenous rituals and tasted traditional dishes. The group toured beautiful floral gardens in Benguet and enjoyed the fresh, cool air of Mountain Province. The program offered a deep dive into the best sights and sounds of the Cordilleras.

A key activity was a hands-on farm immersion in Bauko, Mountain Province. Secretary Frasco and guests joined local farmers to harvest fresh vegetables. This celebrated the region’s vital role in agri-tourism and sustainable farming. The PEP successfully offered an authentic experience, celebrating both the living culture and the agricultural heart of the Cordilleras.
