Philippines Launches 14-Day Visa-Free Travel for Chinese Nationals Effective January 2026

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced on 15 January 2026. Chinese nationals can now enter the Philippines without a visa for up to 14 days. This policy is effective from 16 January 2026. The move aligns with the President’s goal to boost trade, tourism, investments, and people-to-people ties between the Philippines and China.

Chinese citizens traveling for tourism or business will benefit from the new privilege. They must stay for a maximum of 14 days, non-extendable and non-convertible to other visa categories. Entry is restricted to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Metro Manila and Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA).

To qualify, travelers must hold a passport valid for at least six months beyond their stay. They also need a confirmed hotel booking and a return or onward ticket. Security checks remain in place to ensure public safety and track travelers’ records.

The visa-free policy will last one year before a potential review. This initiative aims to strengthen bilateral relations and attract more visitors to key Philippine destinations.
