Becoming: Empowering Sexual Wellness in the Philippines

PASIG, Philippines – After last year’s groundbreaking Unbecoming summit, Unprude is back. They are set to host Becoming: The Philippine Sexual Wellness Summit 2025. This event aims to foster a sexually informed and respectful society. The summit will be held on 14 September 2025, at the Podium Hall in Ortigas. It promises a full day of discussions, workshops, and community building. Over 1,000 attendees are expected. These include parents, educators, professionals, advocates, and young people.

Led by clinical sexologist Dr. Rica Cruz, Unprude continues to champion accessible and shame-free sexual wellness. This year’s theme, “Becoming,” focuses on growth and empowerment. It encourages attendees to explore their sexuality with curiosity, confidence, and compassion.

The summit offers a diverse program for all ages. Participants can choose from various workshops in the morning. These include:

  • Becoming: A New Voice: A healing space for survivors of sexual assault.
  • Sacred Somatics with Jellytime: Focuses on body awareness and connection.
  • Becoming Respectful: A teen workshop on setting boundaries.
  • Becoming Authentic: Rewriting personal stories of sexual shame.
  • Becoming Open: A guide to consensual non-monogamy.

The afternoon features plenary sessions with prominent speakers. Senator Risa Hontiveros will deliver the Welcome Address. Ana Santos of Rappler will give an important keynote. Her topic is “Risky. Unprotected. Uninformed.”

Panel discussions will address pressing issues. These include raising open children, community involvement in se8x education, and building healthy masculinity. A spotlight talk on HPV awareness and cancer prevention will also take place. Moreover, there will be panel discussions on men’s sexual health and celebrating sexuality across the lifespan.

Recognizing the importance of early education, Becoming offers dedicated zones for younger attendees. The Kids Zone will feature storytelling and games. The Teens Zone will host sessions on relationships and identity.

The summit concludes with a Body Positivity Performance and Networking Reception.
