Get ready for a spectacular fashion event! Kandama, in partnership with JCI Manila, will hold a benefit fashion show on July 27, 2025. The venue? The prestigious Manila Hotel. The purpose? To raise funds for the Julongan Weaving Center in Kiangan, Ifugao.
This isn’t just another fashion show. “Weave It to Life” is a powerful blend of fashion, culture, and social responsibility. It aims to preserve the rich weaving heritage of Ifugao. It also aims to empower the indigenous women weavers.
The brainchild of TOYM awardee Victor Baguilat Jr., Kandama is known for its stunning designs. These designs incorporate traditional Ifugao weaves into contemporary fashion. The upcoming show will feature Kandama’s latest collection, “Executive Outlaws.” This collection merges urban style with ancestral textile traditions.
Baguilat shared his vision. “Our goal is not only to showcase the beauty of Indigenous craftsmanship. We want to build a future where Indigenous women have access to safe, sustainable livelihoods,” he said. He continued, “This weaving center is more than a structure; it’s a home for cultural resilience and economic dignity.”
The Julongan Weaving Center will be more than just a building. It will serve as a workshop, training center, and heritage site. The center will ensure that the art of handloom weaving continues to flourish.
The event expects over 500 guests. These guests include leaders from various sectors. These sectors include fashion, philanthropy, government, and media. Sponsors will be recognized at the show. Their names will also be permanently displayed at the weaving center.

A preview of the collection was held on June 2, 2025. The preview was a short fashion show at Centro de Turismo Intramuros. It showcased the impressive designs made from hand-woven Ifugao fabrics. The designs were met with enthusiastic approval.

All proceeds from “Weave It to Life” will directly support the construction and operation of the Julongan Weaving Center. This is an opportunity to support a worthy cause while enjoying a high-fashion spectacle. Mark your calendars for July 27, 2025! Support the Ifugao weavers and their rich cultural heritage. Let’s “Weave It to Life” together!
