The Embassy of Israel brought festive cheer to children in the province this holiday season. They partnered with the Shalom Club Nueva Ecija Chapter. Their annual outreach program, “Ngayong Pasko, Salo Tayo,” delivered food, toys, and educational supplies. These were given to students at Mabini Elementary School in Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija. The event, held under the shade of the schoolyard trees, highlighted a tradition of kindness and community spirit during Christmas.
The outreach connects the Embassy, the Shalom Club, and local partners to support children from public schools and indigenous communities. This year, the Makati Medical Center Foundation donated toys and hygiene kits. The Nueva Ecija Seed-Grower Multi-Purpose Cooperative also contributed to the cause. Deputy Ambassador Ester Buzgan personally visited the province to distribute gifts and lead activities with the students.
Mabini Elementary, a small yet dedicated school for 157 learners, welcomed the celebration with open arms. Teachers and staff have fostered a nurturing environment for years. The event unfolded in the school’s covered court, filled with laughter and holiday songs. The iconic Jollibee mascot joined in, dancing and interacting with students to spark joy and excitement.

Deputy Ambassador Buzgan addressed the community, thanking everyone involved. “Children are like little seedlings,” she said. “We must nourish them with love, care, and tools to help them grow and reach their full potential.” She praised farmers as “heroes” for their role in feeding communities. She connected their work to the strength of future generations.
The Embassy provided more than seasonal gifts. Donations included a new television, sound system, and projector to enhance classroom learning. These tools aim to make lessons more engaging and support the school’s educational efforts. Buzgan also gifted school supplies, hygiene kits, and toys to each child.
Local leaders joined in the celebration. Municipal Administrator and former Mayor Imee de Guzman and Shalom Club President Lorna Mae Vero helped hand over donations. Buzgan expressed gratitude to the community, saying, “Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat. This is all for you.”
The event showcased how diplomacy extends beyond formal halls. Shared meals, children’s laughter, and small acts of generosity built connections between nations and communities. The Embassy reaffirmed its commitment to fostering friendship and hope through such initiatives.
“Diplomacy is not only practiced in offices or formal meetings,” Buzgan added. “It happens through gestures of care and solidarity.” The outreach underlined the importance of education, community, and cultural exchange in the Philippines-Israel relationship.

As the holiday season unfolds, the Embassy hopes its efforts inspire continued collaboration. “From the Embassy family to yours, may this season bring light, joy, and shared blessings,” Buzgan said. Mabini Elementary’s students now carry memories of a Pasko filled with warmth and promise.
This annual tradition reflects the shared values of generosity and togetherness. By investing in children’s education and well-being, partners like the Embassy of Israel and the Shalom Club build a foundation for a brighter future. The event remains a reminder that kindness, like a seedling, grows strongest when nurtured by all.
