A sea of determined women filled Liwasang Bonifacio (Bonifacio Square) on Women’s Day 2025. They demanded change. The air buzzed with energy. Rain threatened. The sun peeked through. Their voices rose in unison on this day 08 March 2025.

Gabriela partylist led the charge. Anakbayan joined the fight. Youth groups rallied. The issues were clear. The minimum wage is too low. ₱645 daily is insufficient. They want ₱1,200. A living wage is crucial. ₱30,000 to ₱50,000 is the living wage. The current wage is a poverty trap.

Gender inequality persists. Women leaders face threats. Indigenous communities suffer. Armed groups target their lands. Women are red-tagged. They are harassed. Their voices are silenced.
The VAT is unfair. Taxpayers are burdened. Redundant taxes drain resources. Budget cuts hurt essential services. Education suffers. Public safety is threatened. Environmental protection weakens. Corrupt politicians profit.
Political dynasties grip power. President Marcos Jr’s promises remain unfulfilled. The ₱20 per kilo rice pledge is broken. Consumer prices remain high. The people feel betrayed. So the women lead a protest today.

The march began. A move towards Mendiola Peace Arch. The rain intensified. The march halted near Isetan Mall. Protesters sought shelter under the LRT 2 railway. They continued their demonstration. After an hour, the crowd dispersed. Their message was clear. Change is needed, now.
