A new report from fashion brand Kaiia reveals the top countries with the most international beauty pageant victories. Venezuela takes the top spot with 21 wins. The country has produced 7 Miss Universe winners, 6 Miss World winners, and 6 Miss International winners.
The United States ranks second with 9 Miss Universe titles. The US has also had successes in Miss World and Miss International competitions. The Philippines comes in third with 14 total wins, including 4 Miss Universe and 4 Miss International titles.
France takes fourth place with four major beauty pageant wins, including two Miss Universe titles. The United Kingdom rounds out the top 5 with 8 winners in major competitions, including 5 Miss World titles. The UK is also home to the most top-ranked models.
The Kaiia report calculates the Global Pageant Score based on beauty competition winners and top fashion models. The score shows which countries invest the most in their beauty industry. According to a Kaiia spokesperson, pageant crowns reward more than just looks. The spokesperson’s commented, “Pageant crowns don’t just reward looks – they also reward the country’s infrastructure. Countries that treat beauty as a kind of political soft power build academies and media ecosystems that turn talent into global beauty titles. The leaderboard is really a map of who invests in that pipeline the most, just like any national infrastructure development.”
