The Pokémon Company is marking its 30th anniversary with a massive celebration across Asia. The franchise launched in Japan in 1996 with Pokémon Red Version and Pokémon Green Version.
Festivities will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Singapore, Manila, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Hong Kong. Scheduled events include Pokémon Run, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, and Pokémon GO.
An official website for the anniversary launched today at 12:00 PM JST. It is available in English, Traditional Chinese, Thai, and Indonesian.
Mr. Susumu Fukunaga, a corporate officer at The Pokémon Company, addressed the fans.
“This celebration is a tribute to everyone who has journeyed with us over the decades,” Fukunaga said. “Whether you are a current Trainer or a longtime fan returning to the world of Pokémon, we invite you to join us for this milestone experience.”
He added, “Of course, we’re also thrilled to bring the world of Pokémon to new fans in the Asian region. Therefore, we hope that this event creates a wonderful opportunity for people who are not yet familiar with Pokémon to discover it for the first-time.”
The website features the series’ popular starter Pokémon. It also provides historical information and news updates.
Fukunaga noted the importance of the digital hub for regional fans.
“We are pleased to bring to you a dedicated website to officially connect to our fans in Asia for each celebration in the seven cities,” Fukunaga said. “We hope everyone can look forward to the celebration together.”

The company also announced “PokéXciting!” events. These large-scale activations will occur in five of the seven host cities. Each location will feature a unique experience for attendees.

- Kuala Lumpur : September 12 -13, 2026
- Taipei : October 10 – 11, 2026
Singapore : November 7 – 8, 2026 - Manila : January 23 – 24, 2027
- Bangkok : February 13 – 14, 2027
