Live theater is currently outpacing cinema in popularity. Audiences now crave the raw, unpredictable energy of a stage performance. The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) taps into this trend with its famous production. The cinematic film series “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank 4: Oh Sht! It’s Live sa Cheter!”
The show runs from June 19 to August 16, 2026, at the PETA Theater Center. It is the first live theatrical installment of the iconic satirical franchise.

The plot follows a play within a play. An ambitious team attempts to adapt Aurelio Tolentino’s 1903 work, “Kahapon, Ngayon, at Bukas.” The production descends into chaos as celebrity culture clashes with historical gravity. Eugene Domingo stars as the driving force behind this messy project. She leads a group of aspiring performers called the “Ugeng-gengs.”
The play offers a modern take on today’s lifestyle and culture. It examines how people trade substance for spectacle. The first act provides a funny look at the absurdities of modern life. It mocks the frantic pace of the arts and the digital age. However, the final scene delivers a chilling shock to the audience before the curtain falls.
The production does not offer simple answers. Playwright Chris Martinez explains, “The play doesn’t try to resolve that. It just puts it onstage.” It forces viewers to wrestle with complex themes of power and resistance.
The franchise has a history of addressing uncomfortable truths. Previous films tackled the flaws of commercial cinema and independent filmmaking. This chapter moves that critique to the theater. It exposes the tensions within the current creative scene.

Marlon Rivera serves as the director of the first three films and now acts in the fourth. He notes the weight of the production’s message. “Once the tyrant is expelled and the star is covered in shit, does the audience walk out clean, or are they left holding the ticket stubs of their own complicity?” he asks.
The public reaction has been immediate. The show already claims two sold-out weeks. Many other dates are currently fully booked.
The production offers a theatrical experience that is hilarious and self-aware. It captures the chaotic nature of creating art in the modern world. It invites the audience to laugh at the spectacle on stage. It also encourages them to continue the conversation long after leaving the theater.

Tickets remain available for purchase. Interested viewers can buy them through TicketWorld and Bulk orders are available through Showbuyers.
