The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) is staging “Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank 4: Oh Sh*t! It’s Live Sa Cheter!” The hit satirical franchise makes its debut on a theater stage.
The show opens on June 19 2026 at the PETA Theater Center. It will run for 50 performances through Aug. 16. Matinees start at 2:00 p.m.; evening shows begin at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices range from ₱1,800 for Balcony Side seats to ₱3,500 for VIP. You can buy those tickets at TicketWorld.

Eugene Domingo headlines the cast. She is joined by Melvin Lee, Andoy Ranay, Meann Espinosa, JC Santos, Stella Cañete‑Mendoza, Joshua Lim So, and Marlon Rivera. The ensemble includes Ron Alfonso, Kiki Baento, Roi Calilong, Jay Cortez, Nyla Festejo, James Lanante, Carlon Matobato, Eli Namoc, Reggie Ondevilla, Air Paz, and Ada Tayao.
Chris Martinez, the playwright, said, “Septic Tank has always been about satirizing institutions.” He added, “This time, it is about the state of Philippine theater, where it is, and where it’s going.”
Director Maribel Legarda said, “Film and theater speak different languages. What excites me is how something familiar can evolve and find new meaning in liveness.” She continued, “In theater, ‘live’ is not just a descriptor. It is a condition. It breathes, it trembles, it risks failure, and in doing so, it allows for discovery.”

The production arrives as the Philippine theater enjoys a resurgence. Audience numbers have risen since the pandemic. Younger viewers are spending more on live shows than on streaming. The trend counters a global slump in cinema attendance.
Legarda explained the timing. “When we laugh, we let our guard down and sometimes recognize uncomfortable truths. That is where comedy becomes a mirror,” she said.
Martinez reflected on the industry’s current phase. “It’s exciting, but it’s also a good time to analyze,” he said. “Is it really a golden age? There is good, there is bad, and maybe this play can offer a clearer perspective on the power of theater.”
The show is built as a “play within a play.” Actors portray exaggerated versions of themselves. The format blurs the lines between reality and performance. It mocks theater‑making while celebrating it.
A creative team supports the production. Assistant Director Johnnie Moran, set and costume designer Gino Gonzales, deputy costume designer Martha Cruz, assistant set designer Leslie Centeno, lighting designer Barbie Tan‑Tiongco, sound and music by Angel Dayao, lyricist Michelle Ngu Nario, choreographer Raflesia Bravo, and video designer Bene Manaois all contributed.

“Live theater offers immediacy,” Legarda said. “It invites shared laughter and the magic of a story unfolding in real time.”
The PETA Theater Association, a nonprofit organization with almost six decades of experience in the field, produced the show. PETA is known for socially relevant plays that educate and inspire.
“Babae Sa Septic Tank 4” marks the franchise’s first foray onto the stage. The original 2011 film satirized the Philippine indie film boom. Its sequels lampooned mainstream romance movies and historic revisionism. The new installment turns its lens on the theater world itself.
The creators say the production is a love letter to Philippine (stage) theater. It promises “cry‑laugh” moments and a sharp look at Metro Manila’s current issues.
The run begins June 19. Seats are limited. Ticket buyers can expect humor, spectacle, and a glimpse into the chaotic heart of today’s theater scene.
