The “Ber” months have arrived in the Philippines. Holiday songs play on the radio. Decorations appear in homes and shops. Filipinos now look forward to family gatherings and holiday food.
Two traditional treats always mark the season. These are puto bumbong and bibingka.
For many Filipinos, these snacks mean more than just food. They remind people of cool evenings and family gatherings. People often eat them after Simbang Gabi church services. Their familiar aroma makes the Filipino Christmas feel like home.
Savoy Hotel Manila is now giving these classic treats a fresh look. The hotel is reimagining puto bumbong and bibingka with new flavors. The goal is to honor tradition while making room for something new.

“The classic flavors are still available, but this year, we are giving these beloved treats a little something extra,” the hotel said in a statement.
The hotel’s reimagined puto bumbong comes in two new variations. One version features a topping of coconut milk, mango, and roasted sesame seeds. The second version comes with rich coconut jam and latik. Each option gives the Christmas favorite a fresh twist.
Bibingka also gets indulgent new toppings. Guests can choose between Leche Flan and Macapuno, or Queso de Bola and Hamon. These snacks pair best with a warm cup of tablea hot chocolate. The combination offers a comforting treat for the holidays.

The culinary team also prepared a special Sampaguita syrup. This syrup adds a distinct floral sweetness to the festive creations.
Food traditions do not stay the same forever. They evolve with every generation and every new interpretation. Yet, they still carry the memories that made them special.
This holiday season, puto bumbong and bibingka invite diners to look back at familiar flavors. At the same time, people can make new memories around the food.
Savoy Hotel Manila also has more surprises planned for the season. Guests with a big appetite should watch out for an upcoming event.
“Think you can take on your favorite Christmas treats? Watch out for our upcoming fun Puto Bumbong & Bibingka Eating Contest, where our Guests will soon have the chance to put their appetite to the test,” the hotel announced.
The hotel invites the public to rediscover these two Filipino Christmas favorites with a delicious twist.
