- Economic Impact: Tourism contributed a staggering ₱3.7 trillion to the Philippine economy, representing a significant 9.2% of the GDP – a substantial increase from the 8.6% recorded in 2023
- International Arrivals: The country welcomed over 5.6 million international visitors, surpassing expectations and showcasing the Philippines’ enduring appeal to tourists worldwide. Key source markets remained South Korea, the United States, China, Australia, Canada, Taiwan, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and Malaysia.
- Employment Generation: The sector employed approximately 6.5 million Filipinos, accounting for 13.2% of total national employment, underscoring its vital role in job creation.
- Tourism Direct Gross Value Added (TDGVA): The TDGVA experienced a remarkable 48% growth, reaching ₱2.3 trillion.
- Increased Spending: International tourists spent an average of US$2,073 per capita, indicating a shift towards higher-value tourism.
- Extended Stays: Visitors are staying longer. They are now averaging 11 nights compared to 9 nights in 2019. This signifies a deeper engagement with the country’s diverse offerings.
