SM Hotels Wins Global HR Awards

SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation has won new global and industry awards. The honors highlight the company’s focus on diversity, inclusion, employee engagement, and staff development.

SMHCC won the Diversity and Inclusion Champion title at the 2026 Altaris Business Awards. The global program honors business success and innovation.

SMHCC was also a finalist for Learning and Development Excellence and Talent Acquisition Excellence. The company appeared three times among the seven organizations on the finalists and winners list.

The inclusion award highlights the company’s work with a diverse workforce. Employees of all generations, abilities, backgrounds, and identities receive equal opportunities to grow.

SMHCC showcased initiatives that support women in male-dominated roles. The company includes LGBTQ+ staff and partners with groups that advocate for persons with disabilities and senior citizens. Community-based programs extend these inclusion principles outside the workplace.

The learning and development recognition highlights a structured learning culture. Programs include “We Go Beyond” and leadership tracks like R.I.S.E. and L.E.A.D. Beyond. These initiatives offer specialized training in technical, service, leadership, and personal skills.

The talent acquisition recognition reflects a broad recruitment strategy. SMHCC builds sustainable talent pipelines through school partnerships, internships, and inclusive hiring.

SMHCC also won the Best Employee Engagement Program at the TalentView People Insights Awards 2026. This award honors groups that transform the future of work with meaningful people initiatives.

The award recognizes SMHCC’s efforts to build a culture of listening and open communication. Programs like “We Go Beyond Pocket Sessions,” “HR Hour,” “Wednesday Wisdom,” “Kapihan,” “Stay Interviews,” “HAY Sessions,” and the “President’s Go Beyond Awards” give workers regular chances to connect with leaders. Employees can share their voices, learn, and receive recognition.

“These recognitions affirm that our people strategies are not simply programs on paper. They are reflected in the experiences of our employees every day,” said Charmagne Adonis. She serves as SMHCC Vice President for Human Resources and Organizational Development.

“For us, going beyond means creating an environment where every person feels heard, valued, connected, and empowered to contribute,” Adonis added. “Whether through inclusion, learning, talent development, or engagement, we remain committed to building a culture where our people can grow with the organization and, in turn, help us go beyond what is expected.”

The back-to-back honors show that SMHCC believes organizational excellence starts with its workers. The company combines inclusive opportunities, continuous learning, and strong engagement. This approach supports individual potential and corporate goals in the hospitality industry.
