The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) is launching the third season of CCP National Theatre Live. The program runs from July 2026 to July 2027. It is a partnership with National Theatre Live and Ayala Malls Cinemas.
The season features world-class British theater productions. These plays were filmed live on stage and adapted for cinema. The CCP aims to make international performances accessible to Filipinos.
The screenings will expand to three locations. Audiences can watch in Makati at Ayala Greenbelt, Quezon City at Ayala Vertis North, and Laguna at Ayala Nuvali.
The Opening Lineup
The season begins on July 28. The Audience will screen at Greenbelt. Inter Alia will show at Vertis North and Nuvali. The films will switch venues on August 25.
The Audience, written by Peter Morgan, imagines private weekly meetings between Queen Elizabeth II and her prime ministers. The play explores the monarch’s personal reflections and the changing British political landscape.
Inter Alia is a work by playwright Suzie Miller. It follows an accomplished woman whose success faces personal and societal challenges. The play examines power, gender, justice, and the balance between public and private life.
On September 29, all venues will host Mrs. Warren’s Profession. George Bernard Shaw’s drama follows a young woman discovering the truth behind her mother’s wealth.
Autumn and Winter Screenings
October 27 features The Fifth Step at Greenbelt and Frankenstein at Vertis North and Nuvali. The features swap locations on November 24.
David Ireland’s The Fifth Step centers on two men in a twelve-step recovery program. It explores faith, addiction, vulnerability, and redemption.
Danny Boyle’s Frankenstein is based on the novel by Mary Shelley. It tells the story of Victor Frankenstein and his creation. The Creature journeys to understand humanity while seeking revenge against his creator.
Shakespeare’s Hamlet follows on December 22. It will screen simultaneously at all three locations. The play follows the Prince of Denmark as he seeks to avenge his father’s murder.
A New Year of Drama
The new year begins on January 26 with The Playboy of the Western World at Greenbelt and Fleabag at Vertis North and Nuvali.
The Playboy of the Western World is set in rural Ireland. It follows a man who becomes a local celebrity after claiming he killed his father.
Fleabag, performed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, is a portrait of a woman navigating grief and modern life in London. The play is both hilarious and heartbreaking.
On February 23, Greenbelt will screen Arthur Miller’s All My Sons. Vertis North and Nuvali will present The Playboy of the Western World. All My Sons examines guilt and accountability in post-war America.
A modern adaptation of Molière’s Misanthrope arrives at Greenbelt on March 30. All My Sons moves to Vertis North and Nuvali. Misanthrope explores honesty and social hypocrisy.
The Final Stretch
On April 27, Greenbelt presents Les Liaisons Dangereuses. Misanthrope moves to Vertis North and Nuvali. Les Liaisons Dangereuses follows two former lovers engaged in a dangerous game of manipulation.
May 25 features Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest at Greenbelt. Les Liaisons Dangereuses moves to Vertis North and Nuvali. The comedy follows two men who invent alternate identities to escape social obligations.
On June 29, Fleabag screens at Greenbelt. The Importance of Being Earnest shows at Vertis North and Nuvali.
The season concludes on July 27. All venues will screen Misanthrope.
